Ellenborough 1st Team on the brink of promotion to the Championship
Report for Ellenborough 1st Team for the first three quarters of the season.
After 10 matches 9 wins and just 1 loss, Ellenborough 1st team find themselves top of the Senior British League Division 1.
It was decided we would have a large squad this season due to covid restrictions so two new signings were made, Mark Scutts and Luke Walsh, they have been accompanied by original team members Mitchell Jones, Sara Williams, James Sprackling, Jimmy Walsh and Andy Trott. Over the first 3 weekends It has been a fantastic team effort with everyone playing their part in winning vital matches at just the right time, this has meant we find ourselves in top spot. New signing Luke Walsh has been outstanding playing in every match at Number 3 behind Mark and Mitchell, winning 16 out of 20 matches.
Team Manager Roger Pyle has had a tough job on his hands rotating the team to keep everyone happy, but at the same time making sure the right players are picked to win each match!
Ellenborough are now on the brink of promotion to the Championship with there destiny in their own hands with 4 matches remaining and 2 points clear of second place Kingfisher.
It has been a long road putting Ellenborough back on the Table Tennis map from the days when we were relegated to the bottom division 6 years ago, but hopefully next season we will be back amongst the elite teams in the Championship!!
